Forget Natural Alternatives, Scientists Now Using Illegal Meth to Treat Flu

Who needs natural methods of dealing with the flu when you can simply use one of the most deadly and highly addictive illegal drugs on the face of the planet? That appears to be the attitude of some medical scientists, who are now looking to methamphetamine to combat the flu.
It is no satire, scientists based out of Taiwan have conducted research on the effects of methamphetamine on the flu and are now reporting that it does indeed exhibit flu-fighting properties. Granted the scientists are not recommending that the pure form of meth be utilized in the treatment of the flu, but instead they actually plan on taking further time and research to figure out which parts of the meth are responsible for the effects. This is beyond ridiculous when considering that there is already a bountiful amount of research showing the significant anti-flu capabilities of natural substances like whole foods and vitamin D.
Slashing the risk of flu contraction by around half even in very low doses, vitamin D has been found to be extremely potent when it comes to bolstering the immune system and fending off the flu. But it appears vitamin D and other natural alternatives do not warrant further research.
Instead, illegal meth is under the microscope and is being held up as a possible answer to the flu by some scientists. Used by around 30 million worldwide, meth is known to lead to side-effects like damaged blood vessels in the brain, stroke, and can even cause death. It also contains ingredients such as:
- Drano
- Brake fluid
- Sodium hydroxide
- Ether
- Hydrochloric acid (a corrosive acid that will actually ‘eat away’ human flesh)
- Lighter fluid

Studies like these highlight just how out of touch with reality (whether willingly so or not) many within the mainstream medical community have become. Waging a war against natural foods and nutrients that have been shown to fight the flu while questioning whether or not the deadly drug meth may actually hold the ‘key’ to treating the flu reveals a whole new level of ‘old paradigm’ medicine brought into focus.

Taiwan doesn't count for the mainstream medical committee. Doesn't sound like the are rolling out meth on the markets to combat the flu, but a scientific curiosity about why it slows down flu virus reproduction. It's hard to tell what is really going on through the author's bias though.

Well duh, I'm sure battery acid and lighter fluid will kill any germ or virus! Including your brain cells. When you use stimulants you're not to concerned with being sick anyway!

What you need to cure the flue is: REST, SLEEP, PEACE, LOTS OF WARM WATER, WARM BATH/SHOWER, TRANSPIRATION, LEMON and HONEY, SOME ROMERO FRICCION ON YOUR CHEST, SOME INHALATION OF EUCALYPTUS AND MOST OF ALL: love, LOVE AND LOVE, because it is healing.
It will take 3 weeks, so what? Your body needs vacation and purification, so do not forget to clean well your intestinals. Have all the citrus juice drinks with a little warm water: lemon, orange, mandarine, etc. Do not eat much solid food.

It doesn't suprise me but one thing everybody is forgetting is the meth is made with psudoephedren…thus of course it is going to help with the flu…THE MAIN ingredient in meth is used in over the counter cold and flu medications for years and now the US Federal goverment forces you to sign a watch list in order to recive a box or two of these cold and flu meds. So my guess is that TIWAN hasent caught a meth cook yet in order to get that info that even FOX news knows as common knowledge!

alarmist BS title, according to article they are testing it under the microscope, so how can you say they ARE using ILLEGAL meth to treat flu when they're merely examining it for potential benefits. also, meth being an illegal substance is subjective, remember this is a) another country and b) in a laboratory..
it's an informative enough article, and I actually agree this is stupidity when compared with natural well-being, but this article is also quite ridiculous.
