Are Wireless Signals Dangerous To Your Health?
Wi-Fi connects electronic devices to wireless computer networks (wireless LAN) using electromagnetic radiation. Wi-Fi is installed in homes, schools, offices, stores, hotels, coffee shops, airports, libraries, hospitals, public buildings and even entire sections of cities. Wi-Fi signals are, unlike TV and radio signals, strong enough to penetrate concrete walls. Many health experts consider Wi-Fi radiation to be dangerous.

I'd like to see some legitimate, well-respected scientific studies that either have been or at least soon will/could be on this topic. Please let me know if/when that becomes a possibility.

The UK has provided some well documented facts about the dangers of wireless. There's been countless research studies & the affects it has on humans. Sadly, here in the states, this is not well promoted simply because the many billion dollar wireless companies it would affect & the repercussion they DO NOT want to face.

All known cancer-inducing agents — including radiation, certain chemicals and a few viruses — act by breaking chemical bonds, producing mutant strands of DNA. Not until the ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum is reached, beyond visible light, beyond infrared and far, far beyond microwaves, do photons have sufficient energy to break chemical bonds. Microwave photons heat tissue, but they do not come close to the energy needed to break chemical bonds, no matter how intense the radiation. –Dr. Robert L. Park of the American Physical Society (New York Times Oct. 1, 2002)

Just remember the 1% control education and media. They are not going to stop their money for the better of the people.

Sean, you should never base your opinion in somebody else's, even if that somebody else (and you cannot specify who) "says" it is respected. You should study, understand and inform yourself to create your own opinions and points of view, it is of extreme danger for a person and a society to fall in that line of thoughts of just absorbing something as truth just because an "official" or "respected" source said it. No authority is perfect, be it academic, religious, moral or politic. That's not different from the mind set of a religion or a sect, you submit your own feats of intelligence and wisdom and ability to learn and come up with a conclussion, to somebody else's just because a title, "career", or status. Just as an example: Thirteen years ago I decided to eliminate animal products from my lifestyle due to moral, enviromental and health issues. I was just a teenager but a smart and well infromed one, and of course I came across a couple of graduated medics who after the worried inquisitions of my parents, they answered that there were nutrients I could only get from eating meat and that I would lack proteín. Of course my first reaction was to research again, just to rectify what I already knew and, in fact, they were completely wrong. Over this decade and more, I've seen how all this people with classic mentality have been realizing that they were wrong in their statements, even if they had a degree in medicine and years of experience. So take it in account next time you are letting yourself fall into that.

Sioux Susskind What "studies" are you talking about? All the research I've seen points to EM sensitivity as being a psychological disorder, not a physical one.

Thank you so much for posting this..major food for thought..I just put my modem away from me and will turn it off at night…great heads up..thank you for carring.

I do not like posting information that is down right scary, but, I cannot in good conscience not share this…something to truly think about..I just moved my modem and will be turning it off at night.
Any feedback from my friends is appreciated….

You've been had. Fear mongering idiots have scared you with debunked pseudoscience.
Here is the antidote: Facts.

Live long and prosper. Your wi-fi won't interfere with that goal.

I would like to see someone other then moms with some info on this until then I don't see how WiFi could be causing the issues that the claim they do.

actually my ex-land lady had this problem. and it wasn't psychological. i also met other people like that and seen the symptoms. i'm also sensitive to it myself. not as bad as some people. but i do notice it.

Actually wireless signals don't effect your health because there is no radiation in 'radio waves or frequencies".. The batteries used to keep these devices working would be a bigger threat then using the devices..
Feb 07, 2013 @ 09:55:26
Not exactly true. All light, radio, microwave, UV, is Electromagnetic Radiation.
It just is not radioactive Alpha decay like that from nuclear energy.
Feb 07, 2013 @ 14:00:30
Never really gotten that deep into into it.. Thanks for the info, learned something new!!

Clearly, the Mother Earth Journal is more concerned with implausible fear mongering than facts.

If WIFi is dangerous, than so are radio waves from radio stations, radio waves from space, radio waves from everything around us! We are all doomed!
Mar 20, 2013 @ 21:00:21
Don't forget the Sun! The EM radiation from a 15 minute walk on a sunny day will dwarf a year's worth of wi-fi exposure.
Mar 20, 2013 @ 23:44:43
most of your examples are long radio waves, not short waves.
Mar 21, 2013 @ 16:35:05
Radiowaves are always long. Wi-fi = radiowaves. If the wavelength becomes shorter, then it's a different type of wave.
Feb 07, 2013 @ 12:09:55
This is what is causing the concussion problem in the NFL.
Mar 20, 2013 @ 20:17:59
OMG, really anyone who is concerned about this needs to take a physics class or something. Do not worry, wifi can't hurt you. Your own body emits radiation thousands of times more powerful than wifi.

Deniers are kidding themselves. Denial is like the denial of the dangers with tobacco or alcohol. The effects are seen now but will be som much worse in 50 – 100 years or the day that they will be recognized like tobacco is today.
