Well personally I'd quite like to see things such as peer reviewed sources. The facts have been dumbed-down a bit too much, leading to misleading information.
I don´t doubt that people who like Beethoven score higher than people listening to Lil´Wayne. But is it really the music that makes you smarter or do smart people just tend to listen to different music?
i think it is rather the effect of music to the brain, the reckogition of melodies, harmonies, etc, which tends you to get smarter. this will propably be stimulated by music, but there may be more reasons for it. seeing it the other way round it is similar, look at the effects of deprivation to the psyche of humans….
Music is everywhere. It is there when we simply speak. In music we can understand eachother,
It's the only language we can all speak. It doesn't matter whether the music is sad or happy, ugly or beautiful, it's the meaning behind the song that must reach us. And to be honest, the message artist like Lil wayne sends through his music is pretty superficial, there is no real meaning behind it in my opinion. I think that explains why people with less understanding about meaningfull music also just know less about common stuff.
Isochronic tones and binaural beats increase intelligence. Mozart only increases intelligence because we associate Mozart with musical genius. Personal perception plays an important role in how your mind operates.

Arend Vogtländer or the recognition of melodies, harmonies are because you already are smarter? Correlation does NOT mean causation
