That red car with the massive propeller on the front... Probably comes with extra strong wipers to clear what's left of the pedestrians from the windscreen...
2013/07/10 at 23:52
lol yeh that seems pretty safe in collision situations.

Boy, have we let ourselves down... :D

Please note the Tuplovev "Concordski" in the background of one of the pics towards the end. Very interesting, I thought that was a secret project until it was revealed in 1973

Google's driverless cars have logged well over 300,000 miles in Nevada. The only accidents have been when they switch them to manual control (people). This was also a fact when the USAF used the F-111 fighter bomber TFR (Terrain Following Radar) for the first time in Vietnam. The aircraft would hug the ground but the pilots would freak out near mountain ranges and turn it off, take control of the stick and crash.

Notice how all of the flying cars lack any visibility to look below the vehicle? I would think that any commercial vehicle marketed to the consumer base at large that has the ability to arbitrarily change direction in the Z-axis would have some design requirement to allow the occupants to have the ability to look in all directions.

yes, I was thinking the same thing!

*Forth from the bottom* Whatever you do, you must ensure you walk you dog on the surface of the moon.
2013/03/31 at 11:54
The fifth image looks like a mid 1950s Citroën DS - without wheels and flying of course!
2013/05/16 at 03:41
I said exactly the same thing.

The fender is still there. *shakes head* Photoshop, knew it

Third from the bottom actually resembles a Dyson bladeless fan. It could work! :)
2013/12/24 at 07:28
Wow, I don't know, you'd need a hell of an air jet to propel the vessels, and that in an open environment system... not very energy efficient.
That said, the air jet will be triggered in short bursts, whenever the sensor registers the incoming tip of a vessel. It works theoretically, at least...

There is only one thing wrong with those pictures, and that is missing iPhones in the hands of those people :)

The autopilot car is on the verge of reality.
Stuart Hardy Cull:
2013/01/13 at 13:53
Yeah most drivers are on autopilot most of the time.
2013/03/21 at 03:08
Yeah and today people will also definitely play with domino and paper air planes during the journey :D
2013/04/18 at 13:54
google has had driverless cars since 2005. They have been on the road for several years now.
When it breaks down, do you just shut it all down and then restart?

I think we could actually build that water trike from the very last picture...
2013/11/05 at 23:27
It has actually been built :), same look...
it has been built, yup.
2013/05/06 at 17:30
these people were retarded.
2013/07/31 at 14:55
Are you serious right now? Either you are completely retarded or this is a mediocre attempt at trolling. We have metal boxes that can propel you hundreds of times faster than evolution could have ever prepared, a little machine on a planet that is 33.9 million miles away, that is controlled without ever seeing the machine, you have a tiny box that allows you to speak and see other people as well as share pictures almost instantly. We have stopped light. You think these ideas are absurd but think about the technology you use everyday. It's sounds far more insane than anything in these images. "These people" are the reason modern technology exists.

Donnie Archer +1 to you.
2013/01/11 at 15:08
This is really cool! LOL @ some of the vehicles!
2013/01/13 at 18:43
That last one was the awesomest. You could totally make one of those.
2013/01/20 at 14:21
Yeap :) It has been done .

The gyro stabilized two wheel bus put me in mind of the Segway, and several of the train ideas are like monorails/ bullet trains, too.
