Simple healing recipes for cleansing your liver and blood
PF Louis,
(NaturalNews) After the heart and lungs, the liver is perhaps your most vital organ. When it shuts down, you die. Extreme liver conditions may result in the eventual need for dangerous liver transplants.
A sluggish liver can manifest a malaise of symptoms that lead to misdiagnoses for other chronic autoimmune diseases. This sluggishness can be prevented and also corrected through rejuvenating and cleansing your liver frequently.
The liver is responsible for purifying your blood and is involved with producing glutathione to recycle spent antioxidants. It helps convert sunlight to vitamin D3, and it’s involved with the manufacture of bile needed for removing nutrients from food particles in the small intestine.
Successful cancer treatments such as the Gerson Therapy and Dr. Donald Kelley’s pancreatic enzyme protocol, perfected and continued today by Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, utilize coffee enemas to eliminate toxins from the liver.
This procedure was specifically inserted into those cancer treatments to eliminate dead cancer cells and toxic die off, but it’s also useful for eliminating accrued toxins from years of living in our toxic environment and/or consuming toxic foods and beverages.
Methods and recipes for purifying your liver and blood
Liver cleanse coffee enema: Unflavored organic high caffeine (lightly roasted) coffee is recommended. After the coffee cools to approximate body temperature, the enema is administered and held for up to 20 minutes while lying on your right side, then relieved with a bowel movement. Procedure explained here (http://www.naturalnews.com/022905_coffee_body_water.html).
Burdock tea: Burdock tea is easy to make and inexpensive. It’s the go-to blood purifier in Ayurvedic medicine (http://www.naturalnews.com/027521_burdock_root_blood.html).
Chlorella and other green super-foods: Chlorella is a favorite, but some also swear by spirulina, wheat grass, and other green super foods. Chlorella purifies the liver and the blood, serves as a prebiotic to nurture probiotic bacteria, and promotes bile production (http://www.naturalnews.com/024617_chlorella_body_blood.html).
Cilantro (organic): Cilantro (coriander) can be chopped and added to foods, used with other ingredients for making soups, mixed with green smoothies, or used with carrots and other items for juicing (http://www.naturalnews.com/027434_cilantro_natural_detox.html).
It has been clinically proven to remove toxic mercury and other heavy metals from our blood. The combination of chlorella and cilantro creates a super detox recipe.
Lemon/lime water: Adopting a ritual of drinking purified or spring warm water with a substantial squeeze of lemon or lime first thing in the morning is a time honored method of stimulating and cleansing the liver. Hold the sugar or any other sweetener though.
Zeolite: This usually has to be ordered online. Beware of network marketing traps, unless you want to be involved in that sort of scheme. Usually those MLM products are higher priced.
Zeolite liquids contain suspended volcanic materials that adsorb (not absorb) heavy metals. Adsorption is a form of chelation, which means toxic particles are electronically bonded or grabbed, neutralized, and escorted out of your body.
Betonite clays: There are internal and external versions that act very similarly to zeolite. Some prefer soaking in a tub of betonite water. But there are betonite clays that can be consumed in solutions with water also.
Western Herbs: Dandelion and milk thistle are two herbs common in the Western world for purifying and strengthening the liver. Dandelion is usually considered more of a cleanser, while milk thistle is commonly recognized as a tonic strengthener.
Some herbal products can be blended together to get maximum benefits. The tinctures are pricey, but you can make your own tinctures to save money and have constant refills indefinitely (http://www.naturalnews.com/032298_herbs_tinctures.html).
Traditional Eastern Herbs: There are many. If you are receiving acupuncture, you may have some prescribed to you. Ayurvedic liver formulas are available online and in good health food stores.
Homeopathic remedies: They are plentiful. But you should consult an experienced homeopathic practitioner for those.

I thought this might be legitimate until you listed "homeopathic remedies". That completely crushed all credibility this article has. That's really too bad because the idea of cleansing my liver was pretty interesting and enticing :-/

That is a problem thought pattern for you. There is nothing wrong with homeopathic remedies and I can tell you that each of the things listed here are legitimate and useful. Many I have tried. One thing not mentioned here is that the liver and kidneys when cleansed of toxins they are free to help you metabolize fat more readily. Try watching "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead," on Netflix. If you chose to follow you will understand on day 8 of your re-boot exactly how great it feels to be free from toxins.

It is not the legitimacy of 'homeopathic remedies' that crushed your credibility… it is your belief system based on misinformation and lack of experience with natural medicine. On the other hand, when you see the very disturbing or even fatal side effects of modern medication (or just read the side effects lists in pharmaceuticals)… then we could talk about crushed credibility.. but the pharmaceuticals are supported by such a media propaganda that they hypnotise the unaware… (just watch their visual adds… and the names of the pharmaceuticals… they really make you want to take it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w06gQqYWTW4 (can find more adverts on youtube)
So… to wrap it up… we are part of nature … and as long as we are dependent on the air we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat, our bodies are compatible with what is natural… sickness is a matter of going on the other direction…

Very well said Julia!

Lol, I can't believe some people believe in this bullshit.
Jan 18, 2013 @ 06:07:58
I lost around 65 lbs. from this buillshit and have kept it off for 2 years and am in better health than I have ever been in my entire life. Don't be put off by wellness. You know what extreme is? Following the mainstream American diet and having to give yourself insulin shots or being cut from top to bottom, veins stripped and re-used for bi-pass in your heart. THAT is total bullshit and it can be avoided. Try to keep an open mind!
Jan 18, 2013 @ 06:59:30
Ya buddy, you are going to be left behind as more and more people are waking up to this bullshit. I've had awful headaches from the aspartame laden drinks that I used to have. My wife's migraines were much worse than mine. The cure? Homeopathic and organic bullshit. I will tell you one thing though: as you discover about this bullshit, it only gets worse. You start discovering the true intentions of the Chemical Food Industry, FDA sell outs, psychotropic drugs, big Pharma, toxic substances in our houses and environment, etc… So I understand fully your desire to stay in the dark.

You guys aside from being nice & open mind are right. The liver can be cleaned. Aside from all the good advise from this article i use dr. Hulda Clarks liver flush recipe. I was not sure what the true effects were until my friends father got to the hospital with hepatitis and jaundice. 73 at the time they were only offering a transplant which they didn't want. So i suggested the liver flush and due to lack of options he did it. Next day hepatic enzymes dropped from 2,000 to 700 & no transplant was needed. So Jean-François Côté you ignorant fuck don't talk about facts without evidence and i'm Ivy league graduated Dr. in case you need the stupid background of education.

Thank you, great article. Please don't be discouraged by those who are unaware of these healing remedies.
Jan 18, 2013 @ 07:45:36
I do the lemon squeeze before breakfast and juice all these foods. My liver is hoppin! lol
Jan 18, 2013 @ 08:59:10
So nature is bullshit? Are you telling me, there are no medicinal properties to herbs?
Feb 07, 2013 @ 02:03:20
Everything you need to fight cancer, cure a cold, cure infection, anything, is already on this planet. pharmaceuticals used to use plants to make the medicines. The problem is modern medicine has more side effects than the actual list of remedies they are for. Natural cures are harmless but just take a little more time

homeopathic remedies are what kept my adult son from going insane as a result of taking malaria medicine. He was in the psych ward because of what the medicine did to his mind. they had no cure but tranquilizers which did not stop the eposides of insanity. (the medicine he took is known to cause this in some people. the military banned its use for their men, yet it has not been banned from use for us citizens) This med. (Larium) has caused murders, insanity, and the list goes on. The only thing that helped and cured him was homeopathic meds. We found out about this word of mouth by another person who suffered as my son did. Now, he is great. Also, the coffee enemas are highly affective. A dear friend recovering from ovarian cancer (removed in August) takes them daily along with diet change and there is nothing left of the cancer in her body. Ovarian cancer , especially in the 4th stage, is generally fatal. Many doctors and all pharmaceutical companies depend on us and our sickness, etc. to make their money. Homeopathic medicine has been used for centuries with excellent results.

I worked with bentonite clays for both my liver issues and joint pain problems I was having. My naturopath informed me that my joint pain could actually be caused by my liver and kidneys not detoxing as efficiently as they could. I've been working on getting healthier in this area for years since I struggle with genetic predisposition for poor liver health. I recently started using a product called Sober UP, and it has completely revitalized me. Apparently it uses a special formulation of herbs and minerals that hasn't been created before. They call it a mental clarity beverage, and it's done that for me too. But the effects it has had on sense of physical wellbeing has been tremendous. This article discusses eastern and western methods being helpful to liver health and I've always felt taking a page from both was the way to go. I think that's what makes the Sober Up beverage work, because it has properties from both schools. Just wanted to let anyone out there know about this, you can grab it from http://www.soberup.com. If you've had liver and toxicity issues like I've had it could really be worth looking into. My best wishes to everyone enduring this struggle.

@Hans Johnstone… please allow me to make to you 2 suggestions…
I feel you are 'fighting' with your health issues… what i am suggesting to you, will stop the inner struggles which add to and perhaps maintain your health problems. Your body energy which would be available to healing and detoxification, is actually being wasted in resistance and the desire to fight for your health. What I am suggesting you do to is do direct your attention towards the mechanism of defending yourself. There is nothing to do about it…. just watch it come….let it be (stay with it, look at it… it cannot hurt you) and watch it go… it will go the same way it came. Then, direct your attention towards the sense of BEING YOU. The second thing you can add is reflexology… I hope this helps…
Feb 08, 2013 @ 01:08:35
So thoughtful of you to reply with this. Reflexology is amazing stuff as well. I hope this note finds you well. Along with continuting to use that Sober Up stuff I will absolutely focus on what you're saying here. I have a gentle flow yoga class tomorrow morning. First one in more than two years. Wish me luck!

Coriander is a great chelating agent! Removes mercury very fast from the body.
Burdock and Dandelion extremely rich in vitamins and minerals, very good in any diet.
Homeopathy has no basis in traditional herbalism or modern chemistry. It is a ridiculous leftover from 18th century natural philosophy. Asserting that diluting a solution will make it stronger is illogical and wrong. That is a fact. Homeopathy asserts that diluting a solution will make the solution stronger, and that even if not a molecule of the original chemical diluted is present that the solution will still work, even though the medicine is not present. All evidence suggests that this is wrong, and evidence suggests the opposite, that a less dilute solution is stronger. Marketing what is essentially just water as a medicine might seem harmless, it is not.
Homeopathic products do not cure disease, an ill person taking purely homeopathic medicines is not being treated. These products also compete with alternative medicine that has basis in reality, such as naturopathy. When the Arnica daisy is concentrated and applied as a cream it is arguable that it is promoting a wound to heal, this is an example of naturopathy relying on the basic principle that a traditional remedy might be more effective if it is more concentrated, this is sensible. Homeopathy takes an example of traditional medicine like this and proceeds to dilute it to miniscule proportions, proportions less concentrated than the raw natural sources it starts with, this is illogical. Homoepathy takes the traditional use of Arnica for treating wounds and bruises and dilutes it until it less than a billionth of the active ingredient, and provides it as a pill, instead of applying lots of the active chemical directly to the site of injury, homeopathy applies a miniscule amount of the chemical away from the site of the injury.
The confusion in this topic stems from the age old problem of people not taking any effort to understand what they are doing or consuming, promoting or denying.
(When people do take an interest in alternative medicine it is good to be genuinely informed and discerning in the topic. One pitfall is old jargon being misinterpreted when moderns read old herbals, this is usually relevant when talking about herbal cures for 'cleansing blood' or 'cleansing the liver', in old herbals (pre-1920s) blood cleansing was a direct reference to a supposed aid in curing venereal disease, and the liver has been traditionally (and falsely) connected to blood production (blood is actually produced in bone marrow), much literature on 'cleansing' of the blood and liver relate to STD's not modern detoxing. An example of this confusion is the oft quoted 'blood cleansing' abilities of Parsley as detoxifying, a claim I have encountered in many modern herbals based off 19th and early 20th century herbals, this is a misinterpretation of the traditional belief that Parsley helped with venereal disease when it was described as 'blood cleansing'.)
