As a working Director, Writer, Producer I cannot begin to thank VFX artists who allow me to create worlds, bend reality, recreate the past, imagine the future, and make the impossible... possible. Without VFX artists my imagination would be limited. Thank you for all your hard work and collaboration to entertain the mass audiences who deserve a good story.

Yes genius, billions of your tax dollars and super computers and CIA Langley media division will get you everything you want and more. So very clever, but very dangerous too, Zionist Hollywood in motion, dream weavers or sh*t shiners @ play. i.e just take Black Hawk Down. Back in 93, 8 out of 10 white people in the USA well let's just say the only black man they respected was Bill Clinton, so what so you think really went down :/ But they wave their media wand making up down, down up and left or right nowhere to be seen, as they decide the perception of all reality... And beyond. The planetary patriot is here!

Let's face it, paychecks for visual effects artists are often exorbitant. Though I appreciate the informative nature of this post and how cool the work is, I don't think the "cry for appreciation" is needed. Your works stands for itself. Good editing is never noticed, your skill is in your seamless integration with the worlds of these films.

sure why not. visual effects are awesome.

What the hell...did they make Mark Ruffalo wear that suit just as a gag? Weren't the facial expressions alone enough to capture and stick a realistic looking face on a completely drawn/rendered Hulk later?

Respect. Nobody thinks about the visual effects

That's one of the reasons the old Star Wars are great. No CGI.

Don't confuse the wonder of VFX with the fact that many writers/directors decide to overdo it. The Transformers movies had almost no content, but my god were they amazing to look it. Truly visual art. Laugh at the actors, the writers, the director, whatever, but seeing Optimus Prime face-to-face with Shia Lebouf was pretty damned cool in my book...

it would have been an awesome post, except for the self-serving whining message at the end.
2013/06/04 at 08:10
yeh and if this were someone shouting out about someone in the government or politics.. it would be considered wistleblowing or conspiracy theory. its funny how 99.9% of the people believe everything in this post ,( not saying its not true) without knowing for a fact. but when people see things that go against what they already know or expect from there government on you tube or something else. they go NO WAY THAT'S BS .... reprogram your brain erik b Anderson . spread more love . be more peaceful . and love and help one another without personal gain . GLHF YOLO! ... or do we?...

Exactly Erik how I feel about that bit at the end. Also. lee Ang I'd probably one of the humblest directors around, why highlight him ? He's an easy target cos he's Asian?
2013/10/25 at 07:56
he's a target because the post house that did all the effects for the film (which he did not thank in his speech) closed down after the film.

One can only but commend the jobs you guys are doing. The hours of work and expertise that goes into it. Brilliant Unsung heroes!

VFX ROCKS! :)
2013/05/09 at 14:27
no thanks or even a mention from the director and cinematographer - shame, the wonderful VFX makes the film truly wonderful.
2013/04/21 at 16:01
It so amazingly done that I never thought that films were shot without actually going to certain places like the oceans, mountains, falls etc. AMAZING art skills! AMAZING! If Ang didn't thank you, I thank you on behalf of the spectators for giving them sensation and dreams ;-).
